This post is a free-for-all for people to:

a) post links to perfume-related content they posted elsewhere (on or off DW)
b) talk about anything they want to talk about that isn't big enough for a full post
c) socialize and hang out without worrying about "off topic"
d) or anything else that comes to mind!

Whatcha wearing today? (Me: BPAL's "Brimstone", which I am absolutely perplexed by. I can't decide if it smells amazing or hideous on me.)

Not wearing anything because it was a hike and garden day, but I managed to BUY ALL THE SAMPLES last night. Like 75% of the Comme des Garcons samples at STC and a random assortment of ambers suggested on other forums as akin to my favorite (only) perfume from my early 20s.

I really need to come up with a storage solution for all these little vials.

We use pipette tip boxes (my wife's a forensic DNA analyst and they go through dozens of the things) but I've seen other people using ammo boxes as well.

That's exactly what I was thinking of last night! I just couldn't figure out a way to search for it at 1 am that didn't get me a bunch of lab supply stores happy to sell me chromatography equipment but no boxes. I should see if I can get my friend the chem prof to snag something for me. Baring that, I was contemplating making a vial stand with some wood and a power drill.

(I mean, not that I'm supposed to take 'em out of lab, but. :-p )

I have ammo boxes and they work well.

I haven't very many imps and such at the present, so I'm currently using one of those hard-sided security wallets. (This one, if the link works right.) I ripped out the plastic sleeve bits and nestled imps inside. I'll need bigger storage fairly soon, but I think it'll work grand as a travel method.

That's a cool box.

I'm wanting to store things upright because I'm paranoid about leaks so I'm thinking about fitting a piece of wood with appropriately sized holes drilled into it into the bottom of a cedar box I have gathering dust somewhere. So sort of a classy test tube holder look. :D

The ammo box might work for you in the meantime. It is upright storage.

I'm thinking the cells might be too big for the tiny 1 mL vials? But maybe I can get multiples in each square.

I believe the size everybody uses is .357 rifle ammo box, and that fits things neatly without being too big, but check with the forums first to be sure.

I am still thinking about playing around with the insert for my cedar box idea too because otherwise it's completely unused and it's really too pretty for that in the long run.

Adding another vote for ammo boxes--nearly all of my perfume is BPAL imps, and the boxes I have are perfect. Also it's just delightful to be able to say I keep my perfume in ammo boxes, to be honest. *g*
