subscriptions

I just cancelled my scentbird subscription, because while they have stuff that sounds good in theory, most mainstream perfumes don't work very well on my highly-acidic skin. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix that other than scent lockets?

Also, are there perfume subscriptions for oil-based indie perfumes? All I can find is Possets.

In other news: what are you sniffing lately?

How feasible would it be to use incense to scent your clothing, the way they did in Heian-era Japan? (I’m recalling a couple old Guerlain fragrances, Mouchoir de Monsieur (1904) and Voilette de Madame (1901), specifically made to be applied to gentlemen’s’ handkerchiefs and ladies’ veils respectively.)

At one point when I’d scored a quantity of Tea Rose on Big Lots clearance, I’d add it to the rinse water for my red and pink summer hand-washables, and received compliments.

Not sure how well the latter approach would work with an oil-based product, though.
