BPAL Halloweenies
It's the most wonderful time of the year! What are you planning on getting, if anything? Notes behind the cut.

Apple Butter Rum – Spiced rum with cinnamon, apple butter, nutmeg, and thick vanilla cream.
Cardamom Cream Pumpkin Cake – Thick lumps of pumpkin cake with cardamom-cream frosting and a dusting of cinnamon.
Chocolate Blood – A sideways ode to Hitchcock’s Psycho, by way of Bosco Chocolate Syrup.
Cinnamon Chai Cupcake – A cozy accompaniment on chilly autumn nights.
Day of Skulls – White sandalwood, beeswax, and frankincense crowned by hydrangea, rose, and kantuta blossoms, dressed with tobacco, cocoa leaves and flowers from the sacred Cactus of the Four Winds.

Dead Leaves, Pineapple, Patchouli, and Vetiver
Dead Leaves, Tuscan Leather, White Amber, and Mimosa Blossom

In a Whispering Gallery – Marbled white iris, white tobacco flower, Italian bergamot, white leather, and Mysore sandalwood.
La Calavera Catrina – The Lady of the Graveyard! Autumn leaves, wild roses, bourbon vanilla, dry chamomile, and a bouquet of bright chrysanthemums and Mexican marigolds.

Pumpkin Chypre – A gleaming auburn chypre shot through with streaks of pumpkin.
Pumpkin Sugar 2017 – Crystallized glittering shards of lightly spiced pumpkin sugar.

September Midnight 2017 – A myrrh-darkened amber chypre sweetened by newly-ripened black pomegranate.
Sugar Skull 2017 – Vibrant with the joy and sweetness of life in death! A blend of five sugars, lightly dusted with candied fruits.

Actually, the Halloweenies are a collection that is pretty much guaranteed not to work on me. My skin doesn't do earth, apples, pumpkins, leaves, or any of the thin, icy scents of this time of year.

I don't like earth, apples, leaves, or icy/snowy scents either. I do like apple scents, but I have a lot of them. I'm pretty disappointed in the Pile of Leaves and Pumpkin Spice and Single Notes, and most of the Poe scent won't work on me.
(ICON LOVE) (I used to have one of Darla and Dru I think)

I'm completely over smelling like dirt and dead stuff. LOL I'm also not interested in foodie smelling perfumes.
I wonder if I'd like the dead leaves accord; if so, several of those sound good, but of course if you don't like that accord, then you won't like anything with it in there.

(A thought prompted by your nom de net: do you by any chance like pomegranate? Narcissus?)

Altho lately I've been trying to find scents-for-characters rather than stuff for me, which results in my finding something like Alan McMichael from the CP line (
But there were other bay rum scents I got that went FAUGH immediately. It's always such a crapshoot til I put the perfume on, which is part of the fun.

IAGO: Malevolent, dark and shadowy: sinuous black musk, wet leather and vetiver.
From inside my skin, it emerged as a soft dry weathered leather, whose synaesthetic color was a muted clay-red--reserved, wistful, and gentlemanly. I paid for something more epitomizing Tom Hiddleston's Loki--only to be surprised by a reassuring Good Guy fragrance.

It's so funny how noses and skin chemistry differ. Here's a C&P of my review of Iago:
I am going this alone. Emma took one sniff of the vial, gagged, and retreated to the other side of the room. LOL In the imp, I smell overwhelming leather. On the skin, it starts to mellow and smell a little more like leather than the chemical approximation of leather. Maybe there’s a smidge of coffee as well. I can see how people might think this smells like a worn leather couch warmed in the sun, but I don’t like this at all. LOL So far with BPAL, I either don’t smell the leather at all (as in Ranger) or don’t like it at all. I am starting to suspect I don’t like leather fragrances. Bandit was waaaaaaay too aggressively leather for me. The only leather scent I’ve tried so far and liked is Chanel Cuir de Russie, and the leather in that one is extremely mild on me. In the middle of testing this, Josh came home, opened the door and immediately said, “What’s that smell?” while making a gaggy face. I convinced him to sniff more closely, whereupon he announced that Iago smells like the sharp and chemical stench of the tannery. I know plenty of people love this one. Pretty sure it was recced to me by several people; it just doesn’t work for me at all. :(

I think the one BPAL that affected me like that was Saturnalia. One whiff and I wrapped that imp in a sock, put it in a plastic baggie, and buried it underneath some sacrificial ugly Santa Fe-bought Christmas sweaters I don't think I've ever worn in Seattle. Maybe I should put a copy of those nuclear waste warnings that made it into Yuletide on top.

That's definitely one to immediately swap.
