BPAL Rogue, Arcana Growl
.
Rogue: Soft, well-worn black leather, hemp, and rosin.
I wore the RPG Rogue at my annual scifi con, and it lasted much longer than before, with a huge throw. I noticed the sour notes more than the last time I tried it a couple of years ago. I always loved the leather note, but maybe the hemp is not suiting me. I never could stand the smell of hemp shirts, and I see a lot of them in my hippie-friendly town. I just have to remember to apply it sparingly - a little goes a long way. I guess I've gotten used to the sweet florals that need to be slathered on. I've gotten compliments on it in the past, so it can't be all bad. It's just not a traditional feminine scent, imo. I would love to have a boyfriend I could sniff it on, though!
-------------------
Growl: Caramel, chandan, tiger maple, burnt vanilla, smoky musk, and vetiver.
(Arcana LE 2014, sold out pretty much everywhere.)
When I wear this, the smoke of the smoky musk seems to take over. There's some caramel and bitter vetiver, but it's hard to smell anything else under the smoke. I should know better than to buy something with "smoky" in the description, but the rest of it sounded so good. If you like smoke, this is almost like a pleasant campfire. I tend to amp sweet notes, so unless you *really* amp them, you probably won't notice them in this blend. I think I'll hang on to it to sell, since it seems to be popular.

I love the leather in Bow and Crown of Conquest and in Ranger.
The leather in Iago is a horrific, chemically smelling mess (to me; plenty of people adore Iago).

It's sage, carnation and cedar with lavender, vanilla, white musk and leather.
To me it's not super musky, but YMMV.

I'm the same way. I smoked a long time ago, and now I despise the smell of cigarette smoke (mostly because of pregnancy = bad smells). I do love the smell of a wood fire still, though, but I don't want to wear it.

I do like bourbon, but I have a similar reaction to scotch. Can't stand the smoke in scotch. Or the peat either.
