I can understand why they had to take it down ASAP. I don't understand why they couldn't have just done a bulk email post explaining why - it took them 2 months to explain? D:

The problem is that, as far as I can tell, none of the people who are running the BPAL forum have any systems administration experience at all, and so the fix was a lot more drawn-out than it should have been. (I know exactly what they had to do, and it really shouldn't have taken more than a week at most.)

I think they also frequently fall victim to the 'we're doing this out of love!' mentality, where a lack of professionalism takes hold.
