I have been imp-testing this week, and have found two that I absolutely love: BPAL's Antikythera Mechanism, and Old Demons of the First Class. Very pleased. ^_^

I broke my foot on Wednesday, and am on crutches. The person who had the crutches before I did wore either perfume or spray-on underarm deodorant. Something in the 'Oriental' category of scents, I think, nothing I recognise. I am... not best pleased with that person. I don't like the smell, and I don't like having it close to me all the time.

The funny part was when I realised it was the crutches. I was like "Okay, I spent an hour and a half in the emergency department, so I would expect perfume and cigarette smoke on my clothes from close proximity to other patients. But this isn't that, this is something else, something fresher and in physical proximity. It's like it's on my shoulder, or under my arm... Oh."

I bought a used car that exuded a saccharine fruity floral whenever sunlight hit the steering wheel, from the previous owner's Victoria's Secret hand lotion being worked into the pleather. Crutches bring it to a new level, though.

Oh noes for broken foot and perfume saturated crutches. :(

I wonder if a strenous scrubbing with some rubbing alcohol might divest the crutches of some of the scent.

When on vacation at Disneyland in 2011 I purchased a bottle of Mitsouko and a bottle of Dioressence. I tried them when I got home and didn't care for either, so they've been aging (in the original boxes) since then. I pulled out the Mitsouko earlier this week and wore it alone all one day, then layered with my default Comme des Garcon original EdP another day...and while I get sweet at the beginning, but not specifically peach (listed note), I think I like it. It's grubby and dirty underneath after a few hours, in a way I'm enjoying.

Both bottles were also decorated (artist on site that day) with the year and "Disneyland" on one, my name on the other, plus flowers or a butterfly also bedazzled with jewels over the paint.

I just looked up both of those perfumes and the Mitsouko bottle is so pretty. I bet your bedazzled one is gorgeous.

I am really, really wanting to get my No Way imps out of the house. I have a list up here: http://musyc.dreamwidth.org/2014/04/09/bpal_list.html

Please, if you want something on that, come and leave me a comment. They're being wasted here and I want them to go on to other testers.

I ordered this scent locket, and I am excited to get it. :)

One of the problems I'm having with BPAL is staying power, particularly with the green, herby, grassy scents I love the best. In one of our previous free-for-alls, several people mentioned regular and assiduous moisturizing which has helped to a certain degree. I've also taken to putting the quickly fading scents into my hair and layering a couple of them (Envy and Embalming Fluid) for added staying power. I'm hoping the scent locket will help even more.

Emma and I placed another BPAL order. I let her choose six (Elf, Amsterdam, Kyoto, Slippery Poppy Tincture, Bess, Black Cat), and I picked out (Iago, Squirting Cucumber, Dragon's Claw, Yggdrasil, The Bow & Crown of
Conquest, Lear).

I am also lamenting that I do not live closer to a huge urban center. I'm forty minutes to an hour away from a couple of malls, but they don't have extensive perfume counters and none of the intriguing perfumes with French names I see some people posting reviews about or picking up samples of from Saks. I am jealous. LOL I think my next perfume order will be from perfumedcourt and contain some of those alcohol-based perfumes with the beautiful French names. :)

The staying-power thing can be incredibly variable based on the perfume's composition and your skin chemistry. Just looking at BPAL, I've had some that would fade away into nothingness after an hour or two and others that were still faintly but discernibly hanging on for more than a day, even after showering. I do tend to favor a lot of basenote-heavy scents, and those do tend to be longer-lasting in general.

*nods*

I've found several that will last through showering and/or overnight. Anubis, my new favorite, is like that on me.
